Substation Superintendent
Job description
Overview
ASB Energy Services is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to join our team and oversee the construction of substation projects. This is a full travel position, with rotations available to go home periodically. The Electrical Superintendent will be responsible for managing subcontractors and crews, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
– Oversee and coordinate all on-site activities of subcontractors and crews.
– Ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
– Determine method of construction with labor, material, and equipment needs to build work schedule.
– Monitor progress and performance to meet schedule benchmarks.
– Resolve any issues and/or conflicts with customers or crews on the job site.
– Communicate regularly with company managers regarding status of project, potential problems and assist in resolution.
– Maintain accurate records for timekeeping, budgets, and daily activities.
– Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality and safety standards.
Qualifications
– At least 8 years of electrical site superintendent experience in wind, solar, BESS or substation required
– Master electrician preferred; State licenses a plus.
– Possess skills of a self-starter and a problem solver
– Capable of managing multiple tasks under time constraints
– Ability to travel

Location: On the road – BESS Farm, Solar Plant, Substation, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Job Summary:
The Concrete Foreman will be responsible for the planning, execution, and supervision of all concrete-related activities on assigned energy infrastructure projects. This role requires a strong understanding of concrete placement, finishing, and quality control, as well as the ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced, demanding environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the energy industry, particularly with foundations for electrical substations, piers, pads, or other relevant structures.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Leadership:
– Direct and supervise concrete crews, ensuring adherence to project schedules, safety regulations, and quality standards.
– Provide on-site leadership, training, and mentorship to concrete workers. o Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety meetings.
– Coordinate with other trades and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Concrete Operations:
– Plan and execute concrete placement, finishing, and curing operations. o Interpret and implement project blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings.
– Ensure proper formwork setup, reinforcement placement, and concrete delivery. o Oversee concrete testing and quality control procedures.
– Operate and maintain concrete equipment, including theodolite, laser levels, pumps, vibrators, and finishing tools.
- Safety and Compliance:
– Enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
– Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
– Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes and industry standards. o Maintain accurate records of safety incidents and near misses.
- Project Management:
– Monitor project progress and report on daily activities.
– Estimate material and labor requirements.
– Maintain accurate records of concrete placements, materials used, and labor hours.
– Identify and resolve potential issues and delays.
– Coordinate concrete deliveries and scheduling.
Qualifications:
– Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Concrete Foreman, preferably in the energy industry.
– Proven experience with foundations for energy infrastructure projects (wind, solar, substations, etc.).
– Strong knowledge of concrete placement, finishing, and quality control. ∙ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings. ∙ Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
– Proficiency in operating concrete equipment.
– Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
– OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
– First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
– Ability to work in outdoor environments, and in varying weather conditions. ∙ Ability to travel to remote project locations.
Physical Requirements:
– Ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
– Ability to work in various weather conditions.
– Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.
